Hey everyone! Today was such a beautiful day here in northern oregon :) My son and I ended up taking a nice walk to the bank and then to a store (overall an hour there and then an hour to get back). There were a few times where cars were not careful driving by us, especially since there was no sidewalk for us. It frightens me that some drivers do not even slow down or move over a little bit when there is a child walking!!! Also, I had the right away to cross the street, and I started to do so, and then a truck came to the stop sign but didn't even bother looking or stopping! Other than those few stupid drivers, we enjoyed our walk! He loves feeling the bushes, the flowers and the grass when we walk by any of those. It is so adorable! He thinks it is funny too. Haha. Hopefully this week stays nice so we go for more walks! :)

Hi Tasha,

Has it really been hot in Oregon? I love your narrative about your walk to do town chores. Drivers do not recognize pedestrians where I live in Florida! I would walk more. I do ride my bike. We definitely live in a "car" town where drivers think pedestrians are annoying and "in the way."
Oh, I get angry when I think about you and your precious little boy and his joyful exploration walking along and drivers being careless!

Keep walking and take care. I remember this as one of the greatest pleasures, exploring the world with my little ones. They are so innocent and so open and so honest and so fun.

Wow, I just wrote this long comment and thought I published it and found it did not publish. I will try again.

Long story, short. I live in a "car culture" community. Drivers think pedestrians are annoying and in the way. You have 2 seconds to cross a wide busy street.

I love the image of you and your precious little guy walking as he enjoys exploring the natural world. Keep walking and be careful.

Hey Nancy,
I had accidently had it to where I had to approve the comment beforehand?? LOL. I apologize. I just fixed it so now yours and others can leave comments and it should show right away! :) I enjoy walking and my son enjoys it too! He won't be stuck in a darn carseat. Hey riding a bike is just as relaxing as walking! I just don't own a bike lol. Thanks for the comment! Hope you had a good weekend! I had been overly exhausted and am almost got my energy back. I think I may have had a bug that was going around :( Have a good week and I will see you in class!!
